“A riveting, ripped-from-the-headlines suspense that goes behind the scenes of the Supreme Court, The Wise Man reveals the magnitude of making a decision on one of the most important issues of our lifetime.†– Kirk Cameron, Actor |
It was so cool when my husband Bill and I met actor Kirk Cameron a few years ago on his “Living Room Reset” tour! And even more awesome to get an endorsement for my new novel coming out soon, The Wise Man! Kirk was the keynote this year in the March for Life in Washington, DC and didn’t hesitate when I asked for him to read and review it. I hope that maybe he’ll even star in the movie once it becomes a screenplay like he did in Fireproof and Left Behind! |
Why This is So Important…and Timely.
The Supreme Court is presently debating an appeals case that will ultimately either uphold or, in effect, “overturn” the historic Roe v. Wade decision on whether women have a federal right to abortion. Although the media recently leaked a draft of the majority opinion, it hasn’t been decided yet, but most likely will be by the end of the Supreme Court term in June.
In The Wise Man, two women fight over a baby born live from a late-term abortion and the court case is appealed all the way up to the US Supreme Court. Finn Mitchell is the newest justice on the court…and the swing vote that will decide which way the court turns…in short, whether to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Why Do I Write What I do?
Our nation faces important issues like this one today. The Old Testament stories in the Bible are full of similar issues but since they were written so long ago, God’s messages in some of them are often hard to comprehend or discern.
In The Wise Man, I hope to shed some light on the Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice issue through my main character’s struggles and debate on a contemporary courtroom drama (much like those found in novels by one of my favorite authors, John Grisham!). But I also hope readers will be riveted by the modern-day action-packed suspenseful story – so that they are entertained, enlightened and inspired!
“…for it was You who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been fearfully and wonderfully madeâ€. (Psalms, 139:13-14)
