Just Ask…

I feel blessed lately that God has been opening a lot of doors for me – as my good friend Carol says, “putting just the right person with just the right message in just the right place at just the right time.” But I realize it’s because I’ve been asking. This morning I listened to my interview on the EWTN Network radio show on Sirius XM 130 – “The Sonrise Morning Show” with Brian Patrick – I asked if I could be on the show and sent him a book – that simple!; then I went to work and called Mark Diccoco who owns several “St. Jude’s” Gift Shops in PA (Malvern Retreat House, Philly and Havertown) and he said he ordered a dozen books (all because I went on a spiritual retreat and asked); then tonight I saw my old friend Kathy who owns Kathy’s Corner Shop in North East, MD – and asked if she could carry my books – and she wants to order a dozen and have me do a book signing. So there’s no magic secret (I always was jealous of other authors thinking there was) to “marketing” your books – you just have to ask, be receptive to others, and be thankful when opportunities do come your way. Oh, and I guess people have to actually like the book. And for that I am most humbly grateful! (Thanks God!)

    James 4:2 You do not have because you do not ask God. (NIV)
    Luke 11:9 Here’s what I’m saying:
    Ask and you’ll get;
    Seek and you’ll find;
    Knock and the door will open. (The Message)

    These 2 verses came to mind after reading your entry. It so flows with what Christ has tried to tell us. The worst answer one will get is “no”, but if one does not ask, then it will always be a “no”. 🙂

    Deuteronomy 31:8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.

    What a promise! Thanks for the reminder and the testimony of His promises. 🙂
