It’s summer…well, not officially until a week from now, but it just feels like it…school’s out, the temperatures are hitting the 80’s or 90’s in most places and people are already flocking to pools and beaches. Summer is my favorite season for many reasons. I love swimming outdoors, walking the beach, soaking up the sun, going on vacation! But also because summer calls us to slow down…to savor God’s gifts of sunshine and warmth, family and friends, fun times and laughter. Sometimes when it’s hot and humid there is nothing to do but slow down and sit still...and if we are wise, to listen to what God is trying to tell us. What is he saying to you today? To stop and smell the roses and remember how to be happy and feel joy? To pray for others? To follow that dream in your heart? Perhaps to take that road less traveled? God says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) Today, on this busy Monday, join me in putting aside your daily stress and many thoughts, taking a deep breath of fresh air and taking a few moments to praise God for all the blessings summer brings!
God bless….you must be getting excited about your trip. See you on Wednesday?Hugs
