…shall be exalted.” (Matthew 23:12) Humility – never has been one of my strong suits. I grew up in a competitive family who always encouraged me to strive to win, get ahead, do my best. Not always a bad thing, yet “humble” was not in my vocabulary. Recently, it seems like this foreign concept keeps crossing my path. Hard to take “advice” from a friend, a family member giving me a hard time, not getting what I want when I want it…I have always sought approval from others, and sometimes even “expected” or “demanded” it. Yet lately, I am realizing I don’t need it from anyone except God. And in this realization I have found that I approve more of myself…and the rest all works itself out.
